An employer has asked you to complete an assessment with Test Candidates. We run assessments on behalf of employers, so the company hiring you chose the tests and will see your results. We are not the employer.
Here is what the whole thing looks like before you start.
Opening your invitation
Your invitation email contains a link. Opening it signs you in and takes you straight to your assessment, so you do not need a password to begin.
If you no longer have the email, you do not need to ask the employer for another one. Go to the sign-in page for candidates, enter the email address the company invited you on, and we will send you a fresh link. See my link has expired.
What you will see first
You land on a welcome screen showing who invited you and which tests make up your assessment. Nothing is running at this point and nothing is timed.
From there you can see your tests listed. You take them one at a time, in your own order, and your tests do not start until you choose to begin one. Looking at the list costs you nothing.
Before each test
Every test has its own instructions page. It tells you what the test contains, how long you have, and anything specific you need to know. You begin when you are ready.
Two things worth reading on that page:
- Extra time. If the employer has agreed you can have extra time, there is a setting on the instructions page to apply it before you start. It adds 25 percent to the clock. Turn it on before you begin the test, not during it.
- Accessibility settings. You can turn on single-key shortcuts, which let you answer with the number keys, flag a question with F and clear an answer with C.
How long the assessment takes
Each test shows its own time limit on its instructions page, and the total depends on which tests the employer chose. Some tests are not timed at all: personality and motivation questionnaires have no clock, because there is no right answer to race towards.
What we ask of you
Complete the assessment independently. The employer is using it to understand how you think, so work that is not yours does not help either of you.
Before you begin your first test
Find somewhere you can concentrate, with a connection you trust. On a timed test the clock does not stop if you walk away or lose your internet, so it is worth starting only when you have a clear run at it.
