First, the reassuring part: the answers you had already given are saved. They go to our servers as you make them, so a dropped connection does not wipe your work.
What to do when you are back online
- Get back online, on the same device if you can.
- Return to your assessment using the link in your invitation email, or get a fresh link.
- Carry on. You will be back where you were, with your previous answers in place.
What you will have lost
Time, if the test was timed. The clock does not pause for a lost connection, so the minutes you spent offline are gone.
You may also lose the single answer you were in the middle of choosing when the connection dropped, if it had not reached us. Everything before it is safe.
If it cost you a meaningful amount of time
Tell the employer who invited you, and tell us.
- The employer is the only one who can offer you another attempt, because it is their assessment and their decision. See can you take an assessment again?.
- We can confirm what our side recorded, which gives the employer something factual to base that decision on.
Email support@testcandidates.com with the date, roughly what time, and which test. The more precise you are, the more useful our confirmation is to them.
Stopping it happening again on your next test
If your connection is unreliable, finish the remaining tests somewhere it is not. You take the tests one at a time and you choose when to start each one, so moving to a better connection before the next test costs you nothing. See taking your tests one at a time.
